MUMBAI: A Bhayander youth was allegedly stripped and beaten up by four youngsters for allegedly harassing a 14-year-old girl on social media. While three youngsters, including the girl’s brother, were arrested, the girl filed a complaint against the youth.
Ashutosh Singh (21), who works for a cable operator, was picked up from his workplace in Mira Road by the four on April 2.
Singh, who filed a police complaint on Friday, stated that the four took off his clothes and thrashed him the whole day at a secluded place. He alleged that one of them took a video and threatened to make it public. The Naya Nagar police rescued Singh and arrested three of the accused; the fourth fled. The case was later transferred to the Navghar police in Bhayander (E).
Singh was allegedly harassing the Std IX student on Instagram and she had complained to her family. When her brother learnt about it, he and three friends decided to teach Singh a lesson.
They were booked under sections 363 (kidnapping), 452 (house trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 342 (wrongful confinement), 504, 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC. They were later released on bail by a Thane court.
