Alia Bhatt’s Co-Star In Film On 1971 War With Pakistan Might Be Vicky Kaushal

Actor Vicky Kaushal, who is best known for performance in award-winning film Masaan, is likely to star opposite Alia Bhatt in Meghna Gulzar’s next film. The movie will reportedly be based on Harinder Sikka’s book Calling Sehmat

Actor Vicky Kaushal, who is best known for performance in award-winning film Masaan, is likely to star opposite Alia Bhatt in Meghna Gulzar’s next film, reports news agency PTI. The movie will reportedly be based on Harinder Sikka’s book Calling Sehmat. The story of the film will apparently revolve around a woman who marries a Pakistani Army officer so as to provide Indian intelligence with invaluable information during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. “He (Vicky) is in talks for the film with Alia. The film needed a performer like him. But we are yet to sign on dotted lines and figure out the dates and other things,” PTI quoted sources close to the project as saying.

The shoot of the film, which will reportedly be co-produced by Junglee Pictures and Dharma Productions, is likely to begin in July.

After Masaan, Vicky Kaushal featured in 2016 movie Zubaan, directed by Mozez Singh. He was next seen in Anurag Kashyap’s Raman Raghav 2.0, in which he played a drug-addict cop.

Vicky Kaushal will next be seen in Aanad L Rai’s Manmarziyan, co-starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar. The 29-year-old actor is currently working in Sanjay Dutt biopic, directed by Rajkumar Hirani.

Alia Bhatt was last seen in Shashank Khaitan’s Badrinath Ki Dulhaniaopposite Varun Dhawan. She will soon begin shooting for Ayan Mukerji’s Dragon along with Ranbir Kapoor. She is also committed to working with Zoya Akhtar in her next project, titled Gully Boy. The 24-year-old actress will be seen romancing Ranveer Singh in the film, which is a musical based on the life of rappers living in Mumbai’s ghettos.
