Maharashtra registers dip in pass percentage; 88.74% pass class X board exam

PUNE: 88.74% students who appeared in class X board exam held between February-March 2017 have been declared passed by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education on Tuesday. There is a marginal dip of 0.82% from last year’s passing percentage.

Students will get original copies of their mark sheets from respective schools from 3pm onwards on June 24. 32 schools in Maharashtra registered zero pass percentage while 21684 schools registered 100 per cent result.

Konkan division topped with 96.18 pass percentage within the state, whereas Nagpur region registered the lowest pass percentage of 83.67%. Kolhapur came second with 93.59% followed by Pune and Mumbai registering 91.95% and 90.09% respectively.

Girls once again outshone boys. 676916 (91.46%) girls passed the exam while 781939 (86.51%) passed the exam.
Out of 7198 disabled students who appeared for class X exam, 6170 passed. Among the repeater candidates, 47630 out of 113124 students passed the exam.
Applications for photocopies of answer sheets should be submitted to respective divisional boards from June 14 to June 3. For revaluation of marks, applications should be submitted from June 14 to 23. Supplementary examination for class improvement and repeaters to be held from July 18.
