Virat Kohli: I was in tears when I shared captaincy news with Anushka Sharma

India cricket captain Virat Kohli doesn’t often speak about the love of his life, actor Anushka Sharma, but in a rare interview on Star Sports recently, he revealed how special she really is to him.

Kohli (28) spoke of how he got emotional at being handed India’s ODI captaincy earlier this year, with Anushka (29) by his side.

“I was in Mohali for a Test series (against England in November 2016) and Anushka had come to visit me. Surprisingly, when I was made Test captain in Melbourne (in 2014) also she was there with me and that was a very special moment we shared.

Then, in Mohali they (Board of Control for Cricket in India) called me (to inform about captaincy) and when they hung up and I told her, it was like a flashback of when I started playing cricket at the academy till the Mohali game.

I was emotional… I was in tears. I never thought this day would ever come in my life and when it came, I was able to share it with her, which was even more beautiful. It is something I will always remember,” said Kohli.
