J&K: Policeman shot dead by terrorists in Kulgam

NEW DELHI: A Jammu and Kashmir policeman was on Thursday martyred by terrorists in Bogund village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, Police said.

The killing comes day after Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) had warned policemen to leave their jobs and join them.

However, none of terror outfits operating in Kashmir has taken responsibility of the attack till the time of filing this story.

“Constable Shabir Ahmad Dar was shot outside his home in Kulgam. He was posted with Special Operations Group (SOG) and was currently on leave,” a senior police official said.

“Dar was referred to Srinagar hospital but unfortunately he succumbed to injuries on the way,” the officer added.

On Wednesday, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Abu Ukasha had warned J&K cops to join them for the Kashmir cause.

“Why do you want win applause from (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi for killing your own brothers. You have to live and die with us only,” Ukasha said in a video.
